Cannock Chase District

In addition to the towns of Cannock, Rugeley and Hednesford undoubtedly the jewel in the district’s crown is Cannock Chase National Landscape, a 26 square mile area of outstanding natural beauty famed for its mountain bike trails and wild deer population. McArthur Glen’s West Midlands Designer Outlet located on the outskirts of Cannock is a must-visit attraction for serious shoppers. 

 

City of Stoke-on-Trent & the Potteries 

Affectionately known as The Potteries, the city of Stoke-on-Trent boasts World Craft City status and offers all things ceramic. Discover the stories behind some of the UK’s best known pottery brands including Wedgwood, Moorcroft and Emma Bridgewater.  

Take a tour of working pottery factories, visit museums & visitor centres, shop for bargains at the many pottery factory shops and even have a go on the potter's wheel yourself! When it’s time for fun, experience wet n wild adventures at Waterworld in the heart of the city. 

 

East Staffordshire Borough 

The brewing town of Burton upon Trent is East Staffordshire’s gateway to the beautiful National Forest. A growing destination, the National Forest comprises 200 square miles of newly created forest at the heart of the country with great walks, easy cycle routes and family-friendly attractions.  

Meanwhile the market town of Uttoxeter plays host to pulsating race days at Uttoxeter Racecourse and nearby you'll also find peace and tranquillity at the UK's home of remembrance, revitalisation at Hoar Cross Hall’s soothing spa and some waterside retail therapy at Barton Marina. 

 

Lichfield District 

Home to thrilling family adventures, well-loved children's TV characters and plenty of living history and heritage, Lichfield District is well worth a visit. Lichfield Cathedral is the jewel in the heritage city's crown, a medieval masterpiece boasting three soaring spires and fascinating historic treasures.  

As birthplace of Dr Samuel Johnson, Erasmus Darwin and David Garrick, Lichfield’s arts and culture credentials are celebrated in the annual Lichfield Arts Festival. Away from the city centre you can also visit Drayton Manor Resort, National Memorial Arboretum, Chasewater Country Park and a host of attractions nearby. 

 

Newcastle-under-Lyme Borough 

Come to Newcastle-under-Lyme Borough for beautiful intimate gardens, innovative theatre, exciting events and a host of great markets. A thriving market town with a reputation for markets, music and arts, Newcastle under Lyme is home to the acclaimed New Vic Theatre, award-wining Brampton Museum and nearby Dorothy Clive Garden.

South Staffordshire District 

With extensive parkland, historic houses, canals, walks and cycle routes, pretty villages and the famous Kinver Rock Houses, South Staffordshire District is idyllic. The Staffordshire Way wends the entire length of the district passing Brewood, Codsall, Pattingham and culminating at Kinver Edge.  

South Staffordshire is packed with surprises including stunning sandstone formations, wine producing vineyards and places with Royal connections. Must-see historic houses include Weston Park, Boscobel House, Moseley Old Hall and Wightwick Manor. 

 

Stafford Borough
